Christmas at Our Lady of the Angels Primary Kellyville has always been a special event, however, the school community took it to a new level this year.

Our Lady of the Angels Principal Eva La Rocca said in the early days they had Santa arrive in a helicopter for a few years, but "this years celebrations topped the lot!’’

"The grounds of Our Lady of the Angels set the scene of Christmas night in Bethlehem, all those years ago. It began with Mary on a donkey led by Joseph. Yes, a real donkey! Angels heralded the arrival of the baby, born in a manager. Shepherds, with sheep, came to adore him,’’ Mrs La Rocca said.

“Following the star came three kings from the east, on camels. Yes, real camels. The Christmas story concluded with all staff taking to the stage to sing Silent Night,’’ Mrs La Rocca said.

However, no Christmas is complete without Santa.

"Rudolf led the way on his `go cart’, which was the result of a lunchtime project using parts of old bikes. Rudolf was followed by reindeers drawing Santa and elves with gifts for the students,’’ Mrs La Rocca said.

“All in all, a fabulous night to remember by all. Sending wishes of joy and peace to everyone this Christmas," she said.
