Our students participated in the Parramatta Diocesan Cross Country. What a day it was to run the 2km and 3km Cross Country Track!
OLA came home with some outstanding results. With extremely wet and slippery conditions we are pleased to say that 7 students will represent Parramatta at the next level, and in addition we also have 3 reserves. The NSWCPSCCC Cross Country will be held at Horsley Park next month.

- U12 Girls: Charlotte- 2nd place
- U11 Boys: Korbin- 4th place
- U8/9 Boys: Samuel- 1st place
- U8/9 Boys: Thys- 6th place
- U8/9 Boys: Joshua- 8th place
- U8/9 Girls: Emily- 4th place
- U8/9 Girls: Sarah - 5th place
Reserves:
- U11 Girls: Brae
- U10 Girls: Amalia
- U10 Girls: Scarlett
Then to top off our results - OLA did an amazing job with our overall Eastern Team places:
- 8/9 Girls: 1st place
- 8/9 Boys: 1st Place
- 10 Girls: 1st Place
- 12 Boys: 3rd Place
- 11 Boys: 3rd Place

Congratulations to our talented OLA Debating Team and this week's speakers, Janice, Lily, Olivia, and Zara, on an impressive win! In their latest debate against St John XXIII Primary School, our team took the affirmative side of the topic “Water is more precious than gold.” The opposition put forward a strong case, but thanks to OLA’s outstanding preparation, persuasive arguments, and confident speaking skills, our debaters secured a win! We’re so proud of their teamwork and commitment to excellence. Thank you to Mrs McBrien for all of the hard work she always puts into our debating teams. Stay tuned for more exciting news when the team competes against Mary Immaculate Primary School in Week 7!

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary- the moment our Blessed Mother was taken body and soul into Heaven. As a school community, we gathered in prayer and reflection, giving thanks for Mary’s faith, her humble “Yes” to God, and her motherly care for us all. May her example inspire us to walk in faith, live with love, and place our trust in God’s divine plan.

Our Book Fair has officially arrived, just in time to build excitement for Book Week next week! Students have already been busy exploring the shelves and creating their wish lists today, and they will continue this tomorrow – the smiles (and long lists!) says it all. It’s wonderful to see our love of reading shining so brightly across the school. Let’s celebrate the joy of books together!

Today we kicked off our Book Week celebrations in the most inspiring way - with a special visit from talented author and illustrator, Aura Parker! Students were captivated as Aura shared one of her delightful stories, bringing characters to life with her expressive reading. Afterwards, she guided the children through a step-by-step drawing activity, encouraging creativity and showing them that anyone can be an illustrator with a little practice! From giggles during the story to proud smiles holding up their finished artwork, it was a magical morning of storytelling, imagination, and learning. What a fantastic start to our Book Week celebrations at OLA!
