Elijah with his bush diorama.
Integrating the 5 Cs of 21st Century Learning is easy at Our Lady of the Angels School.
In the primary grades, this is done through Project Based Learning (PBL) and begins in Kindergarten with Discovery Learning. This style of learning develops skills in the areas of creativity, collaboration, cooperation, communication and critical thinking.
Kindergarten was learning about environments and Elijah Katzer chose the Australian bush. Here is his diorama which he made at school, complete with snake, "...because I love snakes'" said Elijah.
At the other end of school, Year 5 students finished their PBL unit of the 3 States of Matter with a day of cooking, heating, cooling and freezing all sorts of 'matter'. Ella Owen had fun turning her solids into liquid before adding heat to make solid again - in the form of a yummy cake.

Last week our Year 6 FIAT team had a wonderful day at Nagle College for LIFTED Jnr, a diocesan faith‑formation experience run by Catholic Youth Parramatta. With the theme “Finding Purpose with Pentecost”, guest speaker Lou Daniels invited students to reflect on two big questions: What is our purpose? and How does the Holy Spirit help us live it out? Through singing, dancing, prayer, and rich discussion, our students showed maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine openness to faith and leadership. They represented our school with pride and kindness. A warm thank you to our parents for supporting transport and making this valuable experience possible. Thank you also to Mrs Hodgess and Mrs Aspinal for accompanying our students.12 May 2026
