Students in Years 4-6 listening to our local police liaison officer talk about Cyber Safety.
Recently, students in Year 4 and 5 started their journey of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) allowing them to bring a digital device to school to help enhance their learning.
As part of our practice in educating the students about how to use these devices, Senior Constable Rob Paterson from Castle Hill Police Station was invited to talk to our Years 4-6 students about Cyber Safety and Cyber Bullying.
Here are some of the things we learnt:
We all learnt something new about how to keep safe online. We watched a few clips on bullying and how to stop it from happening. Const. Rob also briefed us on the equipment he used and what they were.

Constable Rob spoke to us about Cyber bullying. I learnt that some forms of social media such as Facebook and Twitter can lead people to send things to someone that are mean and ongoing is a form of cyber bullying. If the police find out you can get into trouble.

Roy from Year 5, represented Mackillop this week as he played in the NSWPSSA Golf Tournament at Baroonga. This is an outstanding achievement. Roy won the Ambrose (best ball) Boys Nett Champions title, and the MacKillop team came second in the Stoke total and first in the Nett total. Well done, Roy!
