Over forty eight eager students represented Our Lady of Angels at the Diocesan Cross Country. What started as a chilly morning turned into a glorious and warm day at the Sydney Motorsport Park at Eastern Creek.
Every student represented the school with great pride. Every student on the day showed tremendous determination and perseverance and set personal best records. Most of our students who have represented OLA in previous years at the Diocesan Cross Country improved their ranking, beating their previous years' achievements.
The top 8 students in each level move onto the next stage. We would like to acknowledge Jesse Eldred who will represent OLA/Parramatta Diocese at the NSW Catholic Schools Cross Country in June. Along with that, we would like to congratulate Lucas Lesar who finished ninth and is first reserve for the event.
The OLA cheer squad needs to be commended, as after the students finished their race, they commented on how this helped with their determination to push themselves to complete the race and strive to go to the next stage.
A BIG thank you to all the parents for their support during training and on the day.

Socktober 2025- Silly Sock Mufti Day Fundraiser – Wednesday 22nd October! This year, Our Lady of the Angels is proud to participate in Socktober 2025, Catholic Mission’s annual flagship school engagement program. The goal is to bring communities together to make a real impact on global issues. This year, Catholic Mission is raising awareness and funds for the 'Caring Center in Mongolia', which provides essential care and support for homeless children. To show our support, students are invited to wear silly socks with their school uniform on Wednesday, 22nd October. Throughout the week, there will be fun sock games and activities to celebrate Socktober! We kindly ask families to contribute what they can to OLA’s Socktober collective fundraiser through the QkR! App. Donations will be gratefully accepted until 1st November. Thank you for your support in helping make a difference in the lives of those in need!![644505044136076_1421394393113800-1]()

We are excited to have secured a special visit to OLA from one of the current contestants in 'The Voice'. Alyssa Depopolo, who is a local resident, and proud CSPD former student, will visit OLA to share her story and journey so far on 'The Voice'. Alyssa will talk to the children around key messages of 'Following your Dreams', 'Resilience', 'Believe in yourself', 'Coping with pressure', etc. Alyssa will also perform some of her songs for the students, and there will be an opportunity for some children to ask Alyssa questions. A huge congratulations to Aiyonce in Year 5, whose cricket journey continues to soar! Last year, she proudly represented the MacKillop cricket team for CSPD- and this year, she’s been selected for the NSW Girls U13s team! During the holidays, Aiyonce received her first-ever NSW Blues cap from none other than Sarah Coyte, and she’ll be heading to Ballarat at the end of the month to compete in the interstate championships. She’s also the youngest member of the team- and was even featured in The Daily Telegraph this week! We’re so proud of you, Aiyonce- your dedication, talent, and team spirit are truly inspiring! What a brilliant way to kick off Term 4. Yesterday, our 9 teams of OLA students represented our school with pride at the Netball Gala Day in Penrith, showing outstanding sportsmanship, resilience, and true OLA team spirit, even while playing in the heat. A huge congratulations to all teams for their wonderful efforts throughout the day. A special mention goes to our U10 Girls and Junior Boys Teal teams, who went undefeated and were crowned Gala Day Winners! We sincerely thank our amazing parent helpers, as well as the Marian students and ex-OLA high school students, for giving up their time to assist, support, and umpire our teams. Your help made the day run so smoothly. Finally, a big thank you to our teachers Mes Batten, Miss Digwood, Mrs Hodgess and Miss Wahab for organising, assisting, and cheering on our students. What an incredible start to the term, we are so proud of you all!

Monday and Tuesday are Staff Development Days, so there will be no classes on those days. Roy from Year 5, represented Mackillop this week as he played in the NSWPSSA Golf Tournament at Baroonga. This is an outstanding achievement. Roy won the Ambrose (best ball) Boys Nett Champions title, and the MacKillop team came second in the Stoke total and first in the Nett total. Well done, Roy!

We’re incredibly proud of all of our OLA students who showcased their athletic talent at the MacKillop Athletics Championships on Wednesday. A huge congratulations to the following champions who have earned their place at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships next term, proudly wearing the MacKillop colours on 22nd and 23rd October: - Liam: 1st in High Jump - Brae: 1st in Long Jump - Samuel: 3rd in 1500m & 3rd in 800m These students will represent our region and compete against the best of the best from across NSW primary schools.
