Jesse (Finished 2nd), Karl, Marko, Nicholas and Lucas (Ist Reserve)
Over forty eight eager students represented Our Lady of Angels at the Diocesan Cross Country. What started as a chilly morning turned into a glorious and warm day at the Sydney Motorsport Park at Eastern Creek.
Every student represented the school with great pride. Every student on the day showed tremendous determination and perseverance and set personal best records. Most of our students who have represented OLA in previous years at the Diocesan Cross Country improved their ranking, beating their previous years' achievements.
The top 8 students in each level move onto the next stage. We would like to acknowledge Jesse Eldred who will represent OLA/Parramatta Diocese at the NSW Catholic Schools Cross Country in June. Along with that, we would like to congratulate Lucas Lesar who finished ninth and is first reserve for the event.
The OLA cheer squad needs to be commended, as after the students finished their race, they commented on how this helped with their determination to push themselves to complete the race and strive to go to the next stage.
A BIG thank you to all the parents for their support during training and on the day.

They spent time thinking about what the Resurrection means for us today- hope, new life, and God’s love for everyone. It was a moment of faith, reminding our school community that the risen Jesus walks with us each day.

Year 3 ended their Science unit with an absolute bang! Ranger Jamie visited for a hands‑on Forces Incursion, and our students explored pushes, pulls, friction, and gravity through exciting demonstrations and experiments. Thank you to the Year 3 teachers for organising this!

Our Year 2 students wrapped up the term with a brilliant STEM challenge: How can we get the billy goats safely across to another island? Students explored materials, tested their ideas, and engineered solutions. Such clever little designers!

To finish the term, Year 5 designed and made their own animal adaptations, thinking carefully about how different features help animals live in their environments. They proudly shared their creations with Year 1 and Year 6, who were amazed by the detail and imagination!

To finish the term, Year 4 took on an exciting Design & Make task: building a floating boat. Students experimented with materials, tested buoyancy, and made adjustments to improve their designs. Lots of teamwork, curiosity, and proud smiles as their creations hit the water!

Last Wednesday, Kindergarten enjoyed a wonderful incursion with The Drama Toolbox, where they journeyed into the Land of Fairytales. The children explored characters, settings, and storytelling through drama, bringing their favourite tales to life with so much imagination and joy.

Last week, our Kindergarten and Year 6 buddies loved spending time together, exchanging Easter cards, and creating special Easter baskets. Such a joyful way to celebrate the season.
