What an amazing turn out for our annual Fathers' Day Breakfast.
Despite the rain, there were over 300 egg and bacon sandwiches for dads alone! Thank you, once again, to the P&F and all the helpers, parents and teachers, for their assistance in our expression of gratitude for all our dads mean to us. Unfortunately, the rain meant we were unable to present the liturgy prepared by Kindergarten.
The following is an extract from our Fathers' Day Liturgy:
"We give thanks for all fathers who accept their role to nurture, love, teach, and lead their children. We remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families and the ways they lift their children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach. God, as the perfect Father of all, bless and sustain all who care for children as you care for us. Amen."

Congratulations to our talented OLA Debating Team and this week's speakers, Janice, Lily, Olivia, and Zara, on an impressive win! In their latest debate against St John XXIII Primary School, our team took the affirmative side of the topic “Water is more precious than gold.” The opposition put forward a strong case, but thanks to OLA’s outstanding preparation, persuasive arguments, and confident speaking skills, our debaters secured a win! We’re so proud of their teamwork and commitment to excellence. Thank you to Mrs McBrien for all of the hard work she always puts into our debating teams. Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary- the moment our Blessed Mother was taken body and soul into Heaven. As a school community, we gathered in prayer and reflection, giving thanks for Mary’s faith, her humble “Yes” to God, and her motherly care for us all. May her example inspire us to walk in faith, live with love, and place our trust in God’s divine plan.

Our Book Fair has officially arrived, just in time to build excitement for Book Week next week! Students have already been busy exploring the shelves and creating their wish lists today, and they will continue this tomorrow – the smiles (and long lists!) says it all. It’s wonderful to see our love of reading shining so brightly across the school. Let’s celebrate the joy of books together!

Today we kicked off our Book Week celebrations in the most inspiring way - with a special visit from talented author and illustrator, Aura Parker! Students were captivated as Aura shared one of her delightful stories, bringing characters to life with her expressive reading. Afterwards, she guided the children through a step-by-step drawing activity, encouraging creativity and showing them that anyone can be an illustrator with a little practice! From giggles during the story to proud smiles holding up their finished artwork, it was a magical morning of storytelling, imagination, and learning. What a fantastic start to our Book Week celebrations at OLA!
