What an amazing turn out for our annual Fathers' Day Breakfast.
Despite the rain, there were over 300 egg and bacon sandwiches for dads alone! Thank you, once again, to the P&F and all the helpers, parents and teachers, for their assistance in our expression of gratitude for all our dads mean to us. Unfortunately, the rain meant we were unable to present the liturgy prepared by Kindergarten.
The following is an extract from our Fathers' Day Liturgy:
"We give thanks for all fathers who accept their role to nurture, love, teach, and lead their children. We remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families and the ways they lift their children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach. God, as the perfect Father of all, bless and sustain all who care for children as you care for us. Amen."

Our Infants students absolutely loved their special visit from Sue Whiting last week. They were captivated by her stories and especially enjoyed listening to her book about Sidney from Sydney. Meeting a real author made Book Week even more exciting for our youngest learners! A big thank you to Sue for inspiring our students and sharing her love of storytelling with us.

Our library is looking amazing! To celebrate Book Week, each grade created a vibrant display inspired by the shortlisted CBCA books. The creativity, colour, and love of reading truly shine through every corner of our library. A huge congratulations to our wonderful students and teachers for bringing these special stories to life through such thoughtful and eye‑catching displays!

Today our OLA students filled the playground with colour, creativity and so much joy as they stepped into the shoes of their favourite book characters. It was a wonderful celebration of our shared love of reading. We also enjoyed one of our favourite traditions- Rug Reading, where students relaxed with their books and soaked up the magic of stories together. And to top it all off, our staff surprised everyone with their own version of “We’re Going on an OLA Koala Hunt”, which had students cheering, laughing and joining in. A huge thank you to all our families for the incredible effort you put into costumes and to everyone who joined us today. Your support makes these events truly special! Last night our Year 6 students returned from Canberra, full of new knowledge, big smiles and lifelong memories from their two days away. We are so proud of the way they represented OLA throughout their trip. A huge thank you to Mrs Vella, Mrs Hodgess, Mr Cauchi and Mr Campbell for giving up time with their families, supporting our students, and keeping them safe. Your care and commitment make experiences like this possible! We bet everyone slept well last night!!
