Mad Science Day' was part of Year 5's Project Based Learning (PBL) entry activity for our new Science unit for the Term. The unit is all about Solids, Liquids and Gases.
The day wouldn't have been possible without the help of our wonderful parent volunteers who kindly gave up their time in order to run the experiments. It was a fun-filled day and it allowed the students to gain a great deal of background knowledge on the processes involved when Solids, Liquids and Gases change.
Each student had the opportunity to participate in seven different experiments that showcased the properties of solids, liquids and gases. The experiments were: Making a Bouncy Ball, Quicksand Goo, Melt and Burn, Rise Up, Fast Rust, Hot and Cold Water and Investigating Gases.

Last night marked the final chapter of our Year 6 students’ primary school journey as we celebrated their Graduation Mass. Together we prayed and gave thanks for the guidance of their parents, OLA staff, and God throughout their seven years at primary school. We also acknowledged the achievements of students who received special awards, before finishing with a touching moment- our Year 6 students forming a guard of honour for their parents. Thank you to the Year 6 teachers, Miss Grima, and all the staff involved in this special celebration. We wish our graduates many more days filled with faith, fun, and learning as they begin their high school adventure.
