Snr Constable Bollard talking to Stage 3 about being safe when online.
Recently, we have had two police officers come out to speak to us about Cyber Safety.
Here are some student insights from the talk:
Year 3 and 4 had a visit from Constable Rob who talked about how gaming and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Clash of Clans, Minecraft etc opens you up to friending people you don’t know. You should NEVER friend other people on games like Roblox unless, you have full knowledge of who they are. Nevertheless do not friend others, even if you know them, your parents should be with you as you accept or send a friend request. Constable Rob also showed us three videos on how to deal with bullying and how to prevent cyberbullying.
We also learnt that people in this world, including kids can get into trouble when posting mean comments on social media (which should only really be used by kids 13+) at the age of ten, you can get arrested. Once you post a mean picture or comment of rude or inappropriate things or words it can be traced. Online bullying includes harassment, intimidation or not only online but assault is a bullying offence and a criminal offence.

Years 5 and 6 gathered together to learn about Cyber Safety. We had Senior Constable John Bollard, from the Riverstone Police Station, come and talk to us. He taught us how to keep safe when on social media and when gaming online. He outlined how important it is to keep ourselves safe, and gave us information about what the consequences will be if we misuse our devices. Constable Bollard helped us gain a good understanding of what constitutes cyber safety, and how vital it is for us to be safe online.

Last week our Year 6 FIAT team had a wonderful day at Nagle College for LIFTED Jnr, a diocesan faith‑formation experience run by Catholic Youth Parramatta. With the theme “Finding Purpose with Pentecost”, guest speaker Lou Daniels invited students to reflect on two big questions: What is our purpose? and How does the Holy Spirit help us live it out? Through singing, dancing, prayer, and rich discussion, our students showed maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine openness to faith and leadership. They represented our school with pride and kindness. A warm thank you to our parents for supporting transport and making this valuable experience possible. Thank you also to Mrs Hodgess and Mrs Aspinal for accompanying our students.12 May 2026
