4x100m Junior Girls Relay team consisting of Ella, Elise, Seronique and Claudia
A select group of students from Year 3 to Year 6 represented our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival held at Rooty Hill.
All the students displayed great sportsmanship towards other competitors and their own team members. Every child competed extremely well especially against some tough competition but showed great determination and perseverance.
When returning back to the grandstand, the children had big smiles on their faces and were congratulated by those around them for their fantastic effort.
It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents come out and support the children on the day. All the children who represented Our Lady of the Angels were commended for wonderful manners and behaviour throughout the day.
Congratulations to all the children on their fantastic achievements. Some of the children walked away from this event beating their previous years achievements. It was wonderful to see so many new children participating the Zone Carnival. We can’t wait to see what you do next year!

A special mention to the following students who will be representing Our Lady of the Angels at the next level:
- Nicholas Cutroni finished 4th in the 11 yr boys 800m.
- Claudia Coombes finished 1st overall in the 9yr girls 100m.
- Tyler Spiteri finished 2nd in the Junior Discus.
- Riley Price finished 3rd in the Junior Discus and 4th in the Junior Shot Put.
- 4 x 100m Junior Girls Relay Team finished 4th (Team: Elise E, Seronique T, Ella S and Claudia C)
Congratulations everyone and it was a privilege to watch you compete.

These students were chosen by their teachers for their dedication to learning, the kindness they have shown to others, and their overall outstanding achievement this term. Year 2 has been exploring how to take care of creation, learning that our world is a gift from God and that we have a responsibility to protect and respect the environment. As part of this learning, students became eco‑artists, using recycled materials to create artworks inspired by God’s landscapes. This hands‑on project helped them think about reusing resources, reducing waste, and caring for the earth in meaningful, creative ways.

Year 1 have been busy investigating the differences between living and non‑living things, and they put their learning into action by designing and making their very own bird feeders. Students thought carefully about what birds need to survive and created feeders that would help meet those needs in our school environment. It was wonderful to see so many creative ideas come to life, and even more special to have siblings visit to see the showcase. Thank you to everyone who supported the students with ideas, equipment, encouragement, and enthusiasm!

Year 3 had a fantastic time exploring forces through their Design & Make projects this week. Students planned, tested, and created their own objects to investigate how contact and non‑contact forces affect motion, while also using scientific diagrams and data to communicate their ideas. They loved sharing their work at last week's showcase. A big thank you to all the parents who came along, your support made the learning feel even more special!!

On Thursday, a talented group of our Year 5 and Year 6 students took part in the first round of the Mark Taylor Shield Cricket Competition against Santa Sophia, Box Hill. Our team played with fantastic skill, teamwork, and determination- and came away victorious! A big thank you to Mr Campbell for attending and supporting the team, and to Mrs Nicholls and Mr Adams for assisting on the day. What a wonderful achievement for our young cricketers!
