Stage Three and our Japanese visitors went to Australiana Pioneer Village.
We were able to see what life was like in Australia over 100 years ago. It was a wonderful experience for the Japanese students and their teachers, as well as for OLA. We watched a cheeky sheep being shorn and received some of her wool to bring back with us. Caroline, the sheep shearer, also showed us how she could spin wool!
For the rest of the day, we split into six groups and explored the rest of the village. This included meeting (and feeding) some very friendly goats and visiting an olden day bank, blacksmith and barber. We sat in an old primary school where we wrote on slates with chalk. We were also lucky enough to have a ride on the horse and carriage and around the train track, too!
Towards the end of the day we were able to purchase sweets or souvenirs to bring back with us. There were many excited children! Many of the students are looking forward to visiting the Pioneer Village with their families. It was a wonderful day for us all.

Last week, our Year 6 and Kindergarten students enjoyed a final catch‑up with their buddies, sharing smiles, memories, and exchanging special gifts. Having buddies is such a special part of life at OLA, creating friendships, role models, and moments the children will treasure long after the year ends!14 Dec 2025

In Science this term, Kindergarten has been learning all about forces. Last week, the children used recycled materials to design and make a functioning ramp. The children then used round objects to test whether their ramp would successfully allow the item to roll down. They had so much fun creating their own little masterpieces!
