Faith at Work is the theme of the Diocesan Works Fund (DWF) Appeal being held in parishes and Catholic schools during the month of May.
This appeal gives the opportunity to act together as a diocesan family to support ministries and services that no single individual or parish can offer.

In helping to support this appeal, OLA had Pyjama Day in which students and teachers were able to wear their favourite pyjamas to school. It was great to see everyone getting on board with this worthy cause. Everyone would agree that it was a great day to be dressed in our comfy pjs and uggs.

Our OLA runners showed incredible grit at the Parramatta Diocesan Cross Country, powering through wet, muddy, and seriously tough conditions. All 47 students gave their absolute best, showing determination, resilience, and wonderful sportsmanship from start to finish. We are so proud of every athlete who took on the challenge. A huge congratulations to Scarlett, Emily, Samuel, Joshua, Thys, Audrey, Alannah, and Georgia, who have qualified for the MacKillop Cross Country Championships. What an achievement! And a special shout‑out to our U11 Boys, who brought home the Age Champion Team award- an outstanding effort! Thank you to Mrs Batten and Mr Cauchi for attending with our students!

What a wonderful start to the week at OLA! On Monday, all of our students were captivated by Brainstorm Productions’ live wellbeing performance, The Human Race. Through humour, teamwork and powerful storytelling, the show explored courage, honesty, staying calm, online safety, inclusion and looking after one another. This was a fantastic way to build empathy and resilience across our school community. Thank you to Mrs Cordukes for organising this!

Last week our Year 6 FIAT team had a wonderful day at Nagle College for LIFTED Jnr, a diocesan faith‑formation experience run by Catholic Youth Parramatta. With the theme “Finding Purpose with Pentecost”, guest speaker Lou Daniels invited students to reflect on two big questions: What is our purpose? and How does the Holy Spirit help us live it out? Through singing, dancing, prayer, and rich discussion, our students showed maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine openness to faith and leadership. They represented our school with pride and kindness. A warm thank you to our parents for supporting transport and making this valuable experience possible. Thank you also to Mrs Hodgess and Mrs Aspinal for accompanying our students.
