Students in Years 4-6 listening to our local police liaison officer talk about Cyber Safety.
Recently, students in Year 4 and 5 started their journey of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) allowing them to bring a digital device to school to help enhance their learning.
As part of our practice in educating the students about how to use these devices, Senior Constable Rob Paterson from Castle Hill Police Station was invited to talk to our Years 4-6 students about Cyber Safety and Cyber Bullying.
Here are some of the things we learnt:
We all learnt something new about how to keep safe online. We watched a few clips on bullying and how to stop it from happening. Const. Rob also briefed us on the equipment he used and what they were.

Constable Rob spoke to us about Cyber bullying. I learnt that some forms of social media such as Facebook and Twitter can lead people to send things to someone that are mean and ongoing is a form of cyber bullying. If the police find out you can get into trouble.

On Wednesday, OLA will join millions of children across Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime- all reading Luna Roo at the same time! This story follows Luna the kangaroo and her friends as they chase their footy dreams across the outback, celebrating teamwork, courage, and having a go. We can’t wait to share this moment of reading, connection, and storytelling with our students. At OLA, we 'Read to Succeed'!24 May 2026

Kindergarten and Year 6 shared a very special moment this week. Kindergarten were learning that we are all made in the image of God- each of us unique, with our own similarities and differences, yet equally loved. Year 6 have also been exploring how God gives everyone different gifts, and why those gifts matter in our world. During our buddy visit, each student drew a portrait of their buddy. It was such a beautiful reminder of how our youngest and oldest learners work together.
