Verse Speaking Winners
Enunciation and pronunciation are very much part of what is happening at OLA!
All students in Grades 1 to 4 presented their poems in front of a packed house at the Windsor Function Centre. The competition was very strong, the speaking done against many of the traditional schools. The students performed beautifully earning a 1st place, a 2nd place, a 4th place and a Highly Commended.
Students in Years 5 and 6 and the OLA Choir participated in the Choral Section of the Eisteddfod. The competition wasn't big and both our choirs-Mrs Reid's School Choir and the Stage 3 combined choir earned 2nd place.
Well done to all the groups of students and their teachers on their performances.
Claudia and Mia form part of the 100 students who performed in the Stage 3 choir.

Congratulations to all the children who represented OLA at the Hills Band Festival, which was held at Stanhope Gardens last Friday evening. The Hills Band Festival is an annual event that showcases local school bands under the tuition of Teaching Services Australia. In front of a full house at John 23rd, the OLA band performed 3 songs and sounded amazing, and we were even awarded a 'Silver Award'. We are so proud to be able to showcase our talented musicians, and we thank Julia Stafford, from Teaching Services Australia, who has been working all year with our band members.05 Jun 2026
