Verse Speaking Winners
Enunciation and pronunciation are very much part of what is happening at OLA!
All students in Grades 1 to 4 presented their poems in front of a packed house at the Windsor Function Centre. The competition was very strong, the speaking done against many of the traditional schools. The students performed beautifully earning a 1st place, a 2nd place, a 4th place and a Highly Commended.
Students in Years 5 and 6 and the OLA Choir participated in the Choral Section of the Eisteddfod. The competition wasn't big and both our choirs-Mrs Reid's School Choir and the Stage 3 combined choir earned 2nd place.
Well done to all the groups of students and their teachers on their performances.
Claudia and Mia form part of the 100 students who performed in the Stage 3 choir.

Last week, our OLA community honoured St Joseph’s Feast Day with beautiful liturgies held in each classroom. Our students reflected on St Joseph’s quiet strength, his faithfulness, and his example of humility and service. It was a special opportunity for them to pause, pray, and learn more about the man who cared for Jesus with such love and devotion. Thank you to our teachers for preparing these meaningful liturgies, and to our students for participating so reverently. St Joseph continues to inspire us to listen, trust, and follow God with open hearts.

Last week, our Kindergarten students became little scientists as they explored what different temperatures can feel like. Through hands‑on investigation, they touched, compared and described warm, cool, and cold objects- building their vocabulary, curiosity, and confidence as young learners. It was wonderful to see their faces light up as they made discoveries and shared their ideas with one another. We love watching our youngest students learn through play, exploration, and wonder.

On Friday, our wonderful Year 1 students proudly presented their Term 1 learning at our first whole school assembly for 2026- and what a joy it was. We loved hearing them share their Religion learning about Jesus as their friend, their Science investigations into living and non‑living things, and their impressive Creative Arts work. Their reading, speaking, and presenting were absolutely outstanding, and we are so proud of the confidence they showed. A huge thank you to our dedicated Year 1 teachers for preparing the students so beautifully, and to the families who joined us to celebrate their learning. What a fantastic start to the year for our young, little presenters.

Yesterday, our school community came together to celebrate Harmony Day at Our Lady of the Angels. It was a beautiful reminder that everyone belongs, and that our differences make us stronger. Through our Gospel values, we teach our students the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and welcoming others with open hearts. Jesus showed love and acceptance to every person He encountered, and we continue to follow His example in the way we learn, play, and care for one another. What a wonderful day to celebrate the rich diversity within our OLA family.
