Students in Years 1 to 4 attended the Windsor Function Centre to participate in the Verse Speaking section of the Hawkesbury Eisteddfod, run by the Hawkesbury City Council.
"We had to get on stage and perform two different styles of poems and competed against many schools. It was very nerve racking experience getting on stage and performing our poems to lots of parents, judges and students"said Eoin in Yr 4.
"Even though it was a challenge, it is a very good experience as we learnt how to present poems using expression to deliver our poems and standing up in front a large group of people," added Charli.
Congratulation to Year 1 for their Highly Commended, Year 2 for 2nd Place, Year 3 for 1 st Place and Year 4 for 4th Place.

On Friday, our Kindergarten students proudly presented their very first Whole School Assembly, and what a wonderful showcase it was! Our students confidently shared their learning in Religion, Science, and Creative Arts, giving everyone a glimpse into the exciting learning taking place in Kindergarten. Their performance of The Cranky Bear was a highlight of the assembly, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter to the audience with their enthusiasm and expression. We are so proud of the confidence, creativity and teamwork our Kindergarten students demonstrated as they performed in front of the whole school community. For many of them, this was their first experience presenting at a whole school event, making it an extra special milestone. A huge thank you to our Kindergarten teachers for the time, dedication, and preparation that went into making the assembly such a success, and thank you to our families who joined us to celebrate and support our students. Well done, Kindergarten!

Last week, OLA students and staff took part in our vibrant sock mufti for Catholic Mission's Socktober. It was a delight to see the school get into the spirit throughout the week, with the activities led by our Faith in Action Team during lunchtime for each year group. It is always a pleasure to see our community work together to spread the love of Christ. Thank you to all of our families who donated. Thank you for your generosity. To date, we have raised over $1,000 that will provide better educational facilities for the people of Malawi. It is wonderful to see our community helping those less fortunate!

Today we celebrate and thank the incredible teachers and staff at OLA for the dedication, care and commitment they show to our students each and every day. Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our children and families through your passion, expertise and support. A special thank you to our school leaders for leading us in prayer as we celebrated World Teachers' Day, reminding us of the important role teachers play in shaping young lives.
