Students in Years 1 to 4 attended the Windsor Function Centre to participate in the Verse Speaking section of the Hawkesbury Eisteddfod, run by the Hawkesbury City Council.
"We had to get on stage and perform two different styles of poems and competed against many schools. It was very nerve racking experience getting on stage and performing our poems to lots of parents, judges and students"said Eoin in Yr 4.
"Even though it was a challenge, it is a very good experience as we learnt how to present poems using expression to deliver our poems and standing up in front a large group of people," added Charli.
Congratulation to Year 1 for their Highly Commended, Year 2 for 2nd Place, Year 3 for 1 st Place and Year 4 for 4th Place.

Our students have been busy over the past few weeks preparing and practising their speeches for our 'Voices of OLA' Public Speaking Competition. Public speaking is such a powerful skill for young learners- it builds confidence, clarity, and the ability to communicate ideas with purpose. Well done to all students who participated in their class competitions, and congratulations to the two finalists from each class who were selected to represent their grade. These finalists presented in a grand final this week in front of their whole grade, teachers, parents, and Mr Calabria and Mr Cauchi. Thank you to Mrs Kennedy for organising this wonderful event, Mrs McBrien, who judged the grand final with Mrs Kennedy, and to everyone who supported and participated. A huge congratulations to our Term 3 'Student of the Term' recipients who were awarded the Principal’s Award today. These students were chosen by their teachers for their hard work, consistent effort, and for living out our Gospel values in how they treat others. They also enjoyed a special morning tea with Mr Calabria and Mr Cauchi, and we are incredibly proud of each of them. Their kindness, dedication, and positive attitude make our school a better place every day!

Thank you to our wonderful Year 3 students and teachers for leading us in assembly last Friday. We loved hearing their poem about Australia, watching them demonstrate their sentence work on whiteboards using Rowan of Rin, admiring their artwork, and joining in their thoughtful prayer about Mercy. Thank you to all the families who joined us- your presence always makes these moments even more special.

Last Monday, eight of our Year 5 Faith in Action students travelled to Wanderers Fives to represent our school at Catholic Mission’s official 2026 Socktober launch. Today ‘kicked off’ with prayer before transitioning into an energetic day where we created traditional sockballs and played a challenging round-robin of soccer. They learnt about how Catholic Mission aims to build a school for children in Malawi. They shared Zooper Doopers and even enjoyed volleyball alongside friendly high schoolers from St Agnes. While the games brought plenty of big hits, terrific goals, and friendly competition, the real highlight was the team spirit, social connections, and encouraging atmosphere that taught us to go with the flow and have fun. A special thank you goes to Mr Lee, our FIAT coordinator, and Mrs Laborte and Miss Scopizzi for driving them and making this memorable experience possible!

Wow- what a crowd on Friday night! Thank you to all of our families who came along to our Movie Night. It was such a fun way to end the week together. A huge thank you to our amazing P&F for organising the event and creating such a great atmosphere for our school community.
