Year 3 Market Day

21 Sep 2017

Some of the Year 3 students making fruit kebabs and other treats.

During Term 3, Year 3 have been studying the HSIE unit ‘Who Will Buy’.

Weeks were spent researching and identifying the roles of producers, consumers and the influence of advertisements. At the beginning of September, students walked to Rouse Hill Town Centre in preparation for our Market Day on the following Thursday.

This gave them the opportunity to become the producers of delicious treats and hold their own shop front. It was a complete success, selling out of all products. It was a wonderful way to end our unit, sharing our learning with the whole school.

Thank you to the record number of mums, grandmothers and parents who joined us yesterday—it was a beautiful celebration of our Christ-centred community. From our assembly and morning tea to classroom activities, it was heartwarming to see so many smiles and special moments shared. A big thank you to all involved—Miss Grima, our wonderful staff, Fr Carlos, our amazing performers, and the P&F for the stall and morning tea. The ‘Dancing Queen’ finale and classroom time with mums made it a memorable day!
