4x100m Junior Girls Relay team consisting of Ella, Elise, Seronique and Claudia
A select group of students from Year 3 to Year 6 represented our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival held at Rooty Hill.
All the students displayed great sportsmanship towards other competitors and their own team members. Every child competed extremely well especially against some tough competition but showed great determination and perseverance.
When returning back to the grandstand, the children had big smiles on their faces and were congratulated by those around them for their fantastic effort.
It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents come out and support the children on the day. All the children who represented Our Lady of the Angels were commended for wonderful manners and behaviour throughout the day.
Congratulations to all the children on their fantastic achievements. Some of the children walked away from this event beating their previous years achievements. It was wonderful to see so many new children participating the Zone Carnival. We can’t wait to see what you do next year!

A special mention to the following students who will be representing Our Lady of the Angels at the next level:
- Nicholas Cutroni finished 4th in the 11 yr boys 800m.
- Claudia Coombes finished 1st overall in the 9yr girls 100m.
- Tyler Spiteri finished 2nd in the Junior Discus.
- Riley Price finished 3rd in the Junior Discus and 4th in the Junior Shot Put.
- 4 x 100m Junior Girls Relay Team finished 4th (Team: Elise E, Seronique T, Ella S and Claudia C)

On Thursday, our Year 3 students were thrilled to welcome Jacqui from Travelbugs for a captivating science incursion! From leaf insects and millipedes to a scorpion, huntsman spider, and even a rhinoceros beetle, students got up close with some truly fascinating creatures. It was a hands-on experience that sparked curiosity, encouraged thoughtful questions, and deepened their understanding of living things. A big thank you to Travelbugs for bringing the natural world into our classroom!

Congratulations to Aiyonce and the NSW girls cricket team on making their state very proud, by winning the inter-state title in the NSW School Sport Australia Games, for the 3rd consecutive year in a row! NSW Girls- Gold Medal Champions! Aiyonce also had the opportunity to meet the great Shane Watson in Ballarat. OLA is extremely proud of your achievements, and we look forward to watching you grow over the next year.

Congratulations to Brae, Samuel, and Liam, who competed against the best of the best in NSW primary schools, in Athletics recently. Brae placed 30th in Long Jump, Samuel 22nd in 1500m and 23rd in 800m, and Liam 30th in High Jump. You are all outstanding athletes and should be so proud of yourselves. What amazing results for competing at the state level!

Well done to the three teams that each played five games of touch football in the hot sun at the Touch Football Gala Day at The Kingsway last Friday. All 3 teams scored plenty of tries and not many against them, and tried their absolute best. These days don't run well without the help and support of our wonderful OLA parents, family, and teachers. Special thanks to Mr Pendlebury ( Girls team), Mrs Chong (Team Navy) and Mrs Clarke (Team Teal). Thank you for the time and effort you put into coaching our teams, and thank you to Mrs Batten and Miss Smith for attending too.

Last week, all grades were invited to the FIAT All Saints Day Treasure Hunt. The Faith In Action Team students led the participants in activities to learn more about some of our saints, such as Saint Mary of the Cross and Saint Carlo Acutis. The students took time to write a prayer of intercession to their chosen saint. Great thanks go to the FIAT for leading our younger students in their search for information.
