Students at Our Lady of the Lady Angels celebrated St Patrick's Day.
Students attended school wearing green mufti. The day began with a liturgy, led by Year 2 after which we were treated to an Irish dancing performance, performed by our own ‘Irish roses’ - Rose M. and Ruby M. and participating in fun activities and games organised by School Captains and other SRC members.
Everyone was asked to bring in a gold coin donation to donate to Project Compassion, from which $630 was raised.

After a few weather delays, our Stage 2 Soccer Gala Day finally went ahead last Tuesday! Two boys’ and two girls’ teams played seven fast‑paced games each, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship. A special shout‑out to our OLA Girls Teal team, who went undefeated all day without conceding a single goal- finishing second in their pool after a couple of nil‑all draws. Thank you to our wonderful parents for cheering on our players and to those who volunteered to coach and manage teams- we couldn’t do it without you!

Celebrating 40 years of Voice of Youth and the power of student voice
Six Year 6 students from 58 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) Primary schools came together at St John XXIII Catholic College Stanhope Gardens on 22 September for the Voice of Youth Grand Final, showcasing their public speaking skills through a series of thoughtful and engaging speeches.

Our Year 3 students have been exploring Australia in Geography this term. Over the past few weeks, they’ve researched their chosen state or territory, selected landmarks, and planned how to represent the climate, animals, and landscapes of their region. This week, students proudly made and showcased their dioramas to parents and teachers, explaining their design choices and what they discovered about Australia’s diverse environments. A big well done to all our Year 3 students for their creativity and effort, and thank you to our teachers for guiding this wonderful learning experience.

Our students have been busy over the past few weeks preparing and practising their speeches for our 'Voices of OLA' Public Speaking Competition. Public speaking is such a powerful skill for young learners- it builds confidence, clarity, and the ability to communicate ideas with purpose. Well done to all students who participated in their class competitions, and congratulations to the two finalists from each class who were selected to represent their grade. These finalists presented in a grand final this week in front of their whole grade, teachers, parents, and Mr Calabria and Mr Cauchi. Thank you to Mrs Kennedy for organising this wonderful event, Mrs McBrien, who judged the grand final with Mrs Kennedy, and to everyone who supported and participated. What an inspiring celebration of student voice!

A huge congratulations to our Term 3 'Student of the Term' recipients who were awarded the Principal’s Award today. These students were chosen by their teachers for their hard work, consistent effort, and for living out our Gospel values in how they treat others. They also enjoyed a special morning tea with Mr Calabria and Mr Cauchi, and we are incredibly proud of each of them. Their kindness, dedication, and positive attitude make our school a better place every day!

Thank you to our wonderful Year 3 students and teachers for leading us in assembly last Friday. We loved hearing their poem about Australia, watching them demonstrate their sentence work on whiteboards using Rowan of Rin, admiring their artwork, and joining in their thoughtful prayer about Mercy. Last Monday, eight of our Year 5 Faith in Action students travelled to Wanderers Fives to represent our school at Catholic Mission’s official 2026 Socktober launch. Today ‘kicked off’ with prayer before transitioning into an energetic day where we created traditional sockballs and played a challenging round-robin of soccer. They learnt about how Catholic Mission aims to build a school for children in Malawi. They shared Zooper Doopers and even enjoyed volleyball alongside friendly high schoolers from St Agnes. While the games brought plenty of big hits, terrific goals, and friendly competition, the real highlight was the team spirit, social connections, and encouraging atmosphere that taught us to go with the flow and have fun. A special thank you goes to Mr Lee, our FIAT coordinator, and Mrs Laborte and Miss Scopizzi for driving them and making this memorable experience possible!

Wow- what a crowd on Friday night! Thank you to all of our families who came along to our Movie Night. It was such a fun way to end the week together. A huge thank you to our amazing P&F for organising the event and creating such a great atmosphere for our school community.
